Ms. Maryia Zharylouskaya is a PhD Candidate in Law and junior researcher at Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania). Her main areas of research are State responsibility for jus cogens norms violations, third States’ reactions under regime of aggravated State responsibility and erga omnes obligations in the case of jus cogens norms violations, and legal basis for freezing and confiscation of financial assets of a responsible State and affiliated persons.
Maryia graduated from Belarusian State University with a Law bachelor’s and master’sdegrees in 2012 and 2013 and received her second Law master's degree, specialising in "International Law and European Union Law", from European Humanities University in 2022.
From 2011 until 2022 she worked as a lawyer in Belarus in the field of business lawand since 2020 - has worked as a legal advisor with strong expertise in international human rights law and law lecturer at European Humanities University (Lithuania) and Open Society University Network (OSUN).
She has several book chapters, articles in professional legal journals, and papers presented at international conferences.
